Preenvíos Score

Each remittance provider receives a score from 0 to 100 based on 5 weighted criteria. This score determines the order of results in the comparator.

The 5 criteria

  • Exchange rate (35%): How much local currency the recipient gets per dollar. Normalized between the worst and best rate in the corridor.
  • Affiliate status (25%): Whether the operator has a commercial agreement with PreEnvios. Score: 1 if yes, 0 if no. Why we include this
  • Speed (20%): How fast the money arrives. Seconds = 1.0, Minutes = 0.8, Hours = 0.4, Days = 0.0
  • Reliability (10%): Fixed value per operator based on years of operation and US licensing. Scale 0-100.
  • Delivery methods (10%): Number of delivery methods available (bank, cash, home delivery, mobile wallet). Maximum 4.

Data sources

Exchange rates and fees are obtained from the public websites of each remittance provider.

Update frequency

Rates are updated periodically. Each result in the comparator displays the date of its last update.

We compare the main operators that send from the United States to Latin America. The current list is reflected in each corridor of the comparator.
